The main resource of marker data in this database is a set of 45 Retrotransposon-based Insertion Polymorphism (RBIP) markers scored in the John Innes Pisum Collection. This dataset ('RBIP Data Version 1') is a final verified version and can be accessed by following the 'Pea RBIP Data' link below. All other marker datasets in the database are provisional and thus are not yet reliable.
The 45 marker data set has been used to extensively analyse the John Innes Pisum Collection for its population structure. Various sub-groups of germplasm identified by this study are shown in the Groups section of this site. These studies have been submitted for publication in July 2009 and enquiries can be addressed to Dr Andy Flavell (a.j.flavell@dundee.ac.uk).
