Strudel Quickstart Tutorial

  1. On the front page, click the link "Open example dataset".
  2. Click on a chromosome. The homologies with the features on this chromosome are displayed as lines. Clicking on the background makes them disappear.
  3. Double click on a chromosome. This zooms in on the selected chromosome until it fills the screen.
  4. Hold down the Shift key and click and drag across a region on the zoomed in chromosome. This zooms in on the outlined region.
  5. Scroll with the mouse wheel to move up and down in the chromosome or use the blue scroll arrows at the bottom of the window.
  6. Move the mouse over the features on the chromosome. Their names will be displayed as you hover over them.
  7. Click the "Explore range" button on the toolbar and fill in the dialog to see features listed from a given region (e.g. a QTL). When you press the "Find" button a table is displayed at the bottom of the screen which lists all the features contained in the region.
  8. Click the "Reset" button on the toolbar and the original view will be restored.
